St. Vincent de Paul Society Annual Food Collection

October 26 through November 2

food-driveOur conference will be collecting food for the Interfaith Food Cupboard during the week of October 26 through November 2.

Grocery bags will be distributed after each Mass on Oct 25-26 for return by the following weekend. Items requested will be  on labels attached to the bags. Thank you, and God bless you  for your Christian charity to the poor and needy.

COME ONE, COME ALL! Our Holiday Craft Fair is just around the corner.

It is being held in Monsignor Baum Auditorium (Queen of Angels School) and there will be many crafters, food, and fun for the whole family.

In addition, we are selling chances for a variety of prizes. The chance drawing will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6 Chance tickets will be sold during the Craft Fair.  Contact Jenny Mars for information at marsfam1@gmail.com

Good News You Can Use

Remembrance of Our Beloved Dead During the Month of November
During the month of November we will remember our beloved dead by displaying pictures of them in Church. The sheet that will accompany the picture is available at the entrances of the Church. Take one or two strips and bring in the pictures to the sacristy (Oct 25-28).

World Meeting Of Families 2015
The Archdiocese of Philadelphia will host the World Meeting of Families 2015.  Archbishop Chaput encourages parishes to celebrate The Family by holding prayerful and social gatherings.  This month the Legion of Mary of St. David Parish invites us as a parish family to celebrate the Living Rosary on Sunday, October 19 at 2:30 PM. Craft Fair Helpers Wanted!
Many hands make light work and wine can only make it fun!!! Come to Fr. Curran Hall to work on crafts for the St. David Craft Table. Wine, snacks, ideas and supplies will be provided. You don’t need to be super crafty, we just need some base work done!

Catholic Life Congress
There are two opening to attend the Catholic Life Congress on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown Hotel from 9:00AM to 4:00PM. No charge for the Congress. Day includes special speakers, Live Music, Exhibits, and Taize service. To reserve a place please call Father Connors at the rectory. First come, first served.

Upcoming Kairos Retreats

We are excited to announce the 2nd and 3rd Regional Kairos retreats for public school and homeschooled high school juniors and seniors that will take place December 26-29, 2014 and February 12-15, 2015.kairos

Kairos is a 4 day, 3 night retreat helping high school aged kids to grow deeper in their faith. The price for this retreat is usually $300 but with the Philadelphia Education Fund grant, we are able to offer is for $60.
